THINKING OF BECOMING A CHAMPION?

Who Is A Champion?
The dictionary often defines a champion as someone who wins the first position in a tournament or competition. Though this can stand in the contest of winning at a contest, the truth is that champions become champions before they ever win. Even in the contest of winning, I consider a champion as one who consistently wins until he wins his way to the top.
A champion is the one who does whatever he does with the attitude of excellence. He has the mindset of a champion and therefore works until he becomes one.

The Attitude/Character of A champion
A champion holds a mindset of growth and improvement. He sees abilities as potentials, which should be groomed to improve over time. He does not just see abilities as gifts and talents, which if not there cannot be cultivated, rather He holds on to available talents and leverages on opportunities to cultivate other skills.

A champion believes he will always win. People who become champions believe they have the ability to always win. They have no room in their minds for failure; therefore even if they appear to not have done well, they do not get deterred. They are confident that the next try is their win. Failing is simply an event to learn better ways of doing something.

Champions see themselves win before they win. It is one thing to believe, it is another thing to visualize. A champion consistently holds the picture of that glory moment on his mind. This motivates him to work towards the realization of what he sees. Mental picturisation or imagination is free and champions leverage on this to keep them inspired.

Champions are good planners. Every champion sits down and plans on paper what he needs to do to win. The hindsight of previous achievements helps them to decide on the steps to take to achieve change.

Champions take actions courageously. Courage is acting in the face of fear. Therefore, no matter how overwhelming the plans may look, a champion decides to follow the plan diligently and fearlessly.

Champions live by set of values. Our values are the things that are most important to us. A champion therefore must choose those traits that should distinguish him from other contenders. Such values may include: Honesty, Love, Gentleness, and Patience.

A champion is passionate. Someone who would be a champion must love what he does. The passion for what he does should consume him.

If you have ever become a champion, you will agree that sustaining the status is as important and tasking as attaining it. A champion learns how to enjoy success and maintain the champion status by continuing to do everything he ever did to become a champion.
